Jolene was born in Maple Falls, Texas on May 23, 2025. She is my 7th Corgi. I’ve had 3 Cardigan Welsh Corgis, 2 Pembroke Welsh Corgis and 1 Corgi mix. JoJo is a purebred Blue Merle Cardigan Welsh Corgi with the fluffy gene. I’ve been looking and fostering dogs for 3 years, waiting for the perfect dog to adopt and train for therapy dog work, and she came to me in July, 2025.
I wanted a Cardigan Welsh Corgi with the fluffy gene that was well socialized. I got all 3 with Jolene! Cardie’s are my favorite breed and I love the look of a fluffy Corgi. We had one named Gertie in the 1990’s. Jolene was breed by Helen of Arylan Cardigan Welsh Corgis. Helen was looking for a special owner for JoJo because of her highly sought after physical attributes. She wanted to make sure Jolene’s owner wouldn’t use her for nefarious reasons. I feel very privileged to have been chosen to be Jolene’s mom! Jolene is only 10 weeks old when I’m writing this, so watch this space for future updates as JoJo grows and matures. The goal is to train her to be a therapy dog, like Myrtle and Rosie. We’ll be working hard to achieve that goal!
